What We Do

Based in Falmouth, we provide spaying/neutering, veterinary care, medical treatment and foster homes for unwanted, abandoned and feral cats in Nova Scotia.

Trap-Neuter-Release

We safely trap, neuter/spay feral cats and release them back to their colonies.

Foster

Foster care for abandoned cats and kittens until they can be adopted into forever homes.

Adopt

When we have adoptable cats or kittens, we do our best to match them with a forever home and family.

Welcome to our website! Please follow us on facebook for up to date news, events, and adoptable felines.

Pumpkin is again up for adoption. He was returned to us at no fault of his own. Pumpkin came to 9 Lives Cat Rescue after he first showed up on a nearby farm. The kind lady noticed that he was in very rough shape, severely matted and it was evident that he was trying to survive outside for a while on his own. She contacted 9 Lives Cat Rescue where Pumpkin was neutered and went into foster care. Pumpkin was quite nervous at first but can you blame the poor boy? Who knew how long it was since Pumpkin had seen the inside of a home and the affection of humans – if ever. After several weeks, Pumpkin had relaxed a little where he discovered that he liked human touch. It was baby steps for this boy but week by week, month by month he was continuing to progress. During the last few months in his foster home, Pumpkin has also discovered that he loves to play and you will find this boy chasing a laser pointer, cat nip toys, bouncy balls, anything that moves he LOVES it! He also has playmates in his foster home – foster brothers and sisters whom he gets along with very well. Pumpkin doesn’t have an aggressive bone in his body and he will now let you cradle him like a baby while purring up a storm. He also has the most beautiful black coat with grey underneath which we think is quite handsome for this little fella! Pumpkin very much likes to curl up next to you on the couch while you’re watching your favourite show and he won’t complain about a belly rub either! With all this gently boy has been through, he is looking for his furrever home again. We feel Pumpkin would do best in a quiet home without young children. We aren’t sure at this stage if Pumpkin has ever been introduced to dogs but he’s great with other cats as long as your cats are friendly. In order for Pumpkin to thrive in his new home, there will have to be an adjustment period of keeping Pumpkin in a separate room so he can get used to his new surroundings and new adopters. We can walk you through the process to set you and Pumpkin up for success! Pumpkin is neutered, combo tested negative, deflead and dewormed. If you are interested in adopting Pumpkin or meeting him in his foster home, please contact Eileen Boutilier and / or 9 Lives Cat Rescue. ... See MoreSee Less
